Sope Creek · on the dock
Movement on the water
A Yoga x Mobility x Choreography Outdoors Experience led by Registered Yoga Teacher, NASM Certified Stretch + Flexibility Coach and Performing Artist Ogechi. FLOW STATE is yoga-based fluid movement class on the lake's dock. You'll learn a fluid flow routine, and move to three songs at three tempos, and end in a blissful sound bowl session sevasana.
It sits between a yoga class and a dance class. You get the breath, mobility, and grounding of yoga, plus a flow routine taught for fluidity through the spine and hips. Then you'll "dance" it to three different songs and end each run with an 8 count of your body's natural movement to the rhythm. We close with a guided body awareness meditation that leads into a sound healing session in savasana. With an Eight person max to keep things intimate, and ensure hands-on assistance is readily available. No dance or yoga experience necessary
We start with breath-work, intention setting and a warm-up that opens up the range you need for the flow.
I teach a choreographed flow for fluidity and awareness through the spine and hips.
At the end we run the flow to a slow song, a mid-tempo song, and a fast one. Each run finishing with 8 counts of your own natural movement.

The setting
We meet at the Sope Creek mountain biking trail's lake. One parking lot, one walkable trail straight down to our spot. Class happens on the dock, so we're on top of the lake, surrounded and secluded by the trees and the trail-way. No mirrors, no studio walls, the sun being our light.
How class flows
Come onto the dock, meet the group, and set an intention for the session.
Breathwork and a yoga-based warm-up to wake up the body and connect movement to breath.
Targeted work for spinal waves, hip activations, and the fluidity the flow is built on.
I show you the full flow so you can see and feel where we're headed.
We take the counts apart and I teach how to move through them fluidly, with hands-on guidance for each person (if requested).
First run of the flow to a slow track, giving every count room to breathe. Freestyle to close it out.
Second run at a mid tempo, finding the pocket of the music. Freestyle to close it out.
Third run at full flow tempo, all-out. Freestyle to close it out.
Time set aside to film yourself if you want it, no pressure either way.
Slow movement and breath to bring the heart rate back down.
A guided body awareness meditation leading into a sound healing session in savasana.
We close the session with affirmations.
